What is my Legacy – What can I do?

In terms of Section 18(A) any donation to a Public Benefit Organisation is tax deductible up to 10% of your annual income (excluding any lumpsums that you may receive during the year of assessment)

Sentinel International is proud to be independent trustees of Public Benefit Organisation’s whose work with children is both humbling and inspiring.

Kirsty Watts Foundation (www.kirstywattsfoundation.org.za)

The Kirsty Watts Foundation was initiated by Kirsty Watts, aged 14 at the time, during her treatment and recovery from a malignant brain tumor. Kirsty believed in ‘kids helping kids’ and felt that since she was fortunate to receive incredible support and medical care, she would like to assist children less fortunate than herself.

Gratefully, Kirsty has for some years now been in remission but still has the same passionate drive to help children in need. The foundations latest project, a sensory room for the Mohato School for Autism, was a resounding success.

If you would like to donate to this worthy cause you are welcome to contact the foundation directly or Rickyo@sentineltrust.co.za. We can then forward you the necessary information and issue the Section 18(A) certificate.

The Link Literacy Trust (www.thelinkliteracyproject.co.za)

The Link is a Non-Profit Organisation that supports the development of literacy and numeracy in children for whom English is a second language, and who attend low income schools in Johannesburg.

It is managed and staffed by volunteers – members of the community who are committed to making a difference in education and who enjoy working with children. volunteers do not need to have any teaching experience but they are required to be fluent in English as this is a second or third language for many of the children. Basic training and all the resources are provided.

The Link is recognised by the Gauteng Educational authorities, and has permission to operate during school hours and work with children in Grade 2 and Grade 3, who are identified by valid testing to be at risk of not achieving their potential.

If you would like to donate to this worthy cause you are welcome to contact the foundation directly or Rickyo@sentineltrust.co.za. We can then forward you the necessary information and issue the Section 18(A) certificate.
